Arne Slot admitted that it was natural for concerns to be asked about his future after another convincing loss versus PSV Eindhoven.

Liverpool suffered their ninth loss in 12 games, marking the club's poorest streak after being relegated in the 1953-54 season.

They were outplayed by the Eredivisie champions on a punishing evening at their home ground.

“I am feeling safe, things are alright, I have got significant backing from the top,” Slot remarked.

“It would be nice to turn it around and secure a win obviously but if you are coaching a team and struggling then it's expected that questions are asked.”

He added, “I accept my position. This isn't the first time I've found myself in a challenging situation but it's crucial that we improved our results.”

Talks with The Board

When asked to provide details on his dialogues with the team officials, the head coach revealed:

“There's regular dialogue. They are helpful to the team and for me and those talks happen but they aren't calling me every single minute each day to say they back me.”

He mentioned, “In the normal discussions I feel the trust. But I've not talked to them since this match yet so it remains to be seen.”

Persistent Failings and Player Response

The manager highlighted familiar weaknesses from his team in their Champions League loss, namely missed opportunities and leaking goals.

Meanwhile, midfielder Jones was more direct in his assessment of the club’s predicament.

“I don’t have the solutions. Honestly, I don’t. I'm telling that to everybody,” Jones stated.

“It's simply not good enough. I don't have to wait to consider it. I'm beyond getting mad internally. I’m at the point currently where I simply lack the vocabulary.”

He continued, “It’s hard because I play for the club I love. I’m a fan, and I’ve seen Liverpool for years.”

“In a long, long time, I've not seen a Reds side going through a period such as this with performances like these.”

He stated, “But we continue to wear the crest on our shirts. And as long as it is gone, we'll continue to fight.”

“We’re going to try to get this team return to the top, prove once more what this club is about and why it's known as the best team in the world.”

“However currently, things are bad and we have to turn it around.”
